Importing a Revised Estimate

If the service writer has made changes in the estimating system, the revised estimate should be re-imported into Nexsyis.

1.Export the revised estimate from the estimating system
2.From the Folder, select the Estimate tab
3.Click the Re-Import Estimate button
4.Nexsyis will automatically find the estimate you exported that has the same estimate ID as the estimate on the Folder

Once you have closed the estimate after reviewing it, the Work Order will automatically be updated to match the current estimate. All previously made conversions will carry over.

Troubleshooting

Error: Cannot find EMS data to import

If Nexsyis cannot find an estimate with the same estimate ID # as the estimate on the Folder, it cannot reimport the estimate. Make sure you correctly exported the estimate to the bridge and try again. You can also try to manually browse to where the estimate export was saved by selecting "Yes".

The following scenario may have occurred:

The estimator has imported an estimate. Then someone created a second estimate. They are now using the second estimate for supplements, etc. Sometimes the original estimate even gets deleted out of the estimating system. The bottom line is that NEX is working off an older estimate and the estimator is working off of a completely different estimate and does not realize it.

To solve:

The old estimate needs to be removed from the folder. This will un-link all purchase lines. The new estimate has to be imported as a “New Estimate” because it is technically a completely different estimate.

Once the work order is created, the un-linked lines have to be re-linked using the Linkage screen.
