Assembling a WASP Laser Printer

IMPORTANT: The printer comes with a sample black ribbon and a label roll; please discard both of these, as you will not need them. You should have been provided a box of labels separate from the WASP package, please use these new labels.

  1. Load Label Stock
    1. Insert a 1” label spindle into the label roll. If your paper core is 1”, you can remove the 1.5” core adapters from the centering tab. If the label width is 4” wide, the two centering tabs are not required.
    2. Open the printer’s top cover by pulling the yellow top cover open levers located on each side of the printer and lifting the top cover. A top cover support at the rear of the printer will hold the printer top cover open.
    3. Place the roll of labels onto the center of the paper roll mount.
  2. Feed the paper, printing side face up, under the Teflon bar and the paper guide and pass over the platen.
  3. Adjust the yellow center-biased paper guides to slightly touch the edges of the label backing.
  4. To close the printer top cover, lift the cover to the ultimate open angle then use both hands to cover gently. Close the printer top cover slowly and make sure the cover locks latch securely.
  5. Calibrate the printer (WASP - 305):
    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. Press and hold the feed button while turning the printer back on. The LED will flash orange then red five times and then flash orange.
    3. Release the button when you see the light flash orange two times.
    4. After it finishes feeding, press the Feed button once to set to top of form.
