Vehicle Make Groups

Vehicle Make groups can be created in Setup to use with manual estimate templates. The group allows users to associate multiple vehicle makes with one group which can then be associated with an estimate item's pricing. For example, you could create a Chrysler group and add all vehicle brands associated with that group alongside Chrysler, such as JEEP, Dodge, and RAM.

To access this setup, navigate to Settings > Setup > Estimate Settings > Vehicle Make Groups.

Creating a Vehicle Make Group

To create a vehicle make group, please follow the steps below:

1. From the Vehicle Make Group setup screen, select the first row displaying Click here to add a new vehicle group:

2. Key-in the name of the Vehicle Make Group. (ex: Ford)

3. Select the created group, and then expand the drop-down in the lower section of the setup screen to assign the vehicle makes.

4. Select the vehicle make, and key Enter to associate with the group.

5. Repeat for each Make needing to be added to the group. 

A list of vehicle makes can be found on the Vehicle Makes tab along with their associated parent companies and if they are domestic or foreign. Referencing this list could be helpful to identify all makes under a parent company to add to a group.

The list can be sorted as needed, or you can group by ParentCo to display the makes per company. You can drag the ParentCo column to the section that displays 'Drag a column header here to group by that column' to update the view:

Once your Vehicle Make Group is set up, it can be used in Manual Estimate Templates to assign item pricing to the group instead of one vehicle make. More information on how to set this up can be found here: Manual Estimate Template Setup.
