Nexsyis Imaging Options
This document explains the various scanning methods available in the Nexsyis application.

USB SCANNER - https://kb.nexsyiscollision.com/direct-scan
- Nexsyis supports most common USB scanners that utilize either a Twain or WIA driver.
- The Fujitsu model scanner that utilizes an "Isis" driver is not supported.
- For the best scan speeds, a USB 3.0 scanner is recommended. Please make sure the scanner is also plugged into a USB 3.0 port.
- Please set the scanner to default to Black & White with a max 200dpi to keep the file size as low as possible. This will also improve scanning speed.
INSERT FILES FROM DISK
Documents can be added to a folder by simply browsing for the file on your PC from the folder documents screen, or the Imaging window.
- To add a document from the folder document tab, follow the steps here: https://kb.nexsyiscollision.com/attaching-documents-from-a-folder

UTILIZING A CENTRAL SCANNER OR COPIER
It is not uncommon for a shop to require scanning with a shared multi-function machine or copier, as opposed to USB scanners on each desktop.
In cases such as this, we recommend that customer IT does the following:
- From the shop server, create the following three folders for the scan destinations:
\\servername\sharename\APINV
\\servername\sharename\APOH
\\servername\sharename\FolderDocs - From the front panel of the copier/multi-function machine, please create quick-scan buttons that are easily accessible to the end user.
- Once these paths are established, please provide them to the Nexsyis rep you are working with, or email them to nexsupport@nexsyis.com, and we can add them to the shop location settings.
After setup is complete, the scan folders can be accessed via the Files on Disk drop-down box in the Nexsyis Imaging window.
DOCUMENT IMPORT SERVICE (for central AP linking)
Some Nexsyis customers opt to have Nexsyis, or an internal team\individual, handle linking scanned AP invoices for all of their locations. In this scenario, the person doing the linking is often not at the same physical location, so it becomes necessary to give the shop an easy way to make those scans available to the linkers.
To accommodate this use-case, we have a Windows service that can be installed on your shop server that monitors a scan folder for new files and uploads them to the Azure storage container so they are available to the linkers.
The typical scan process for AP linking is as follows:
- A parts person walks to the scanner/copier, places the customer parts invoices in the document feeder, then scans the documents to the shop server (via SMB or FTP) using QuickScan shortcuts on the scanner's front panel.
- A few seconds after the scanned document ends up in the monitored folder on the shop server, the document will disappear after being imported into the Azure cloud storage.
- The document will then be viewable by the linkers via the Unprocessed section in Nexsyis imaging like so:
Note: If you wish to use this Nexsyis document import service, please reach out to Nexsyis support via email at nexsupport@nexsyis.com for instructions on the service installation.
