Message Center - Team Messages
*Note: this feature was formerly known as "Internal Messaging"*
To open Message Center, click on the "Message Center" button on the Operations tab
or on New Internal Messages icon on the bottom-right of the application
This document will review the Team Messages inbox. See Customer Messages or Announcments for more information on those features.
Team Messages screen
When you receive an internal message from team member, it will show under Messages / Team / Inbox.
It will also show a red icon with the number of team messages at the bottom right of your screen:
New Message
Click the "New" button at the top of the Message Center screen. A new message screen will show.
Begin by searching for your desired recipient(s).The quickest way to add recipients is as follows: begin typing the name in the "To:" field, use the down arrow to highlight the name, hit enter twice to select and add to list. Repeat for multiple recipients. The Search list will pull Nexsyis Operators and Messaging Groups. If you select a Group, any user attached to that group will receive the message.
Once you have successfully added a name, you will see it below in blue. Remove it by clicking the "X".
Optionally set a Priority, Category, and attach to a Folder.
Key your message in the empty text box and click Send
Your message will show under the Sent group
Reply / Reply All
At the bottom of the message thread, click Reply or Reply All. Type your message in the empty text box and click Send. Your reply will show in grey.
Read / Unread
Unread is indicated by the blue message icon on the thread and bold message text. A message will show as unread until it is replied to or someone right-clicks over the message and marks it as read.
Archive Messages
Right-click over the message thread to archive it. It will be moved from the Inbox to the "Archived" group.
NOTE: If a Folder is assigned, the messaging system will automatically record a folder note with the Category "Internal Message"
Message Groups
Sending a Message From Other Screens in Nexsyis
There are several other screens in the Nexsyis Application where you can access the messaging function. Below is a list of the screens where the messaging feature is integrated:
If you are in one of these message-friendly locations, you will see a message icon on the bottom button bar.
For example,
1. From the Purchases Assistant, select a line and then select the messaging button on the button bar
2. The messaging screen will open with a New message form activated. Because you are sending this message from the Purchases Assistant, the Category of "Parts" and Folder # will auto-populate. Simply select your recipients and type your message text and send.
3. When the recipient double-clicks on the message, the Purchases Assistant screen will automatically launch, populated to that Folder. The message will launch in a separate window for easy reply.
