Creating EMS Export/Import Folders in Windows

The instructions below include two methods for creating the Windows folders C:\NexEMS\Export & C:\NexEMS\Import, as these are the default paths for most new Nexsyis customers.

Once these paths are created, please refer to the following help documents for adding these paths to your estimating systems:

Creating EMS folders Method 1:

Click on the Windows Explorer (Folder) icon on your taskbar

In Windows Explorer, you may see the C: drive on the left menu or in the right content pane. Double-click on either one to open your C drive.

Click the "New folder" icon in the top menu bar.

Enter NexEMS as the folder name and hit Enter

Double-click the new NexEMS folder to open it, then create the Export and Import folders using the same process.

Creating EMS folders Method 2:

Right-click on the Windows start menu and choose "Run".

In the Run box enter cmd and click OK

When the command prompt window opens, type the following command:  md C:\NexEMS\Export

Then hit Enter

Do the same for the Import path:  md C:\NexEMS\Import

Then hit enter

The folders should now be created.  Open up your C drive to verify:
