Estimate | Work Order |
---|---|
The estimate can be imported at 1st point of customer contact. A Folder can be created directly from an EMS file | A Work Order is created once it is determined that you are going to repair the vehicle. |
The estimate is "king". It is an exact copy of the estimate from the originating estimating system. | A Work Order is a copy of the estimate. |
Multiple estimates for the same repair can be imported into a Nexsyis Folder, for example, you can import both customer pay hail damage claim as well as an accident claim that will be billed to an insurance company. | All estimates in the Folder are combined into one Work Order, deliniated by a dark blue line between estimate 1 & 2. |
You cannot edit the estimate in Nexsyis. | Unlike the estimate, the Work Order can be edited in Nexsyis through "conversions" to reflect how your shop will actually be performing the work. For example, a Quarter Panel line may come over as "Body Labor" from the estimate but you are going to Sublet it to a glass company. By converting the line from "Body" to "Sublet Glass", you can now reflect how your shop is performing the work and order the sublet glass operation through the Purchase Assistant. |
The estimate is used to create the final bill sent to the customer/insurance company. | Creating the Work Order will populate all purchase lines in the Purchase Assistant to order and all labor lines in the Labor Allocation screen so that you can allocate labor to technicians. |
If an estimate needs updating, you should update it in the estimating system and re-import it into the Folder in Nexsyis. |
If you need to order a part or assign labor that will be "shop pay", or not billed to the insurance company/customer, you can Add a Manual Line to the Work Order. |
