Manual Estimate Template Setup

Manual Estimate Templates – Feature Overview

Manual Estimate Templates let you pre‑build a list of commonly used parts, labor, or fees—complete with location‑specific pricing—so estimators can drop a ready‑made package into any folder with a single click. This:

  • Speeds up estimating by eliminating repetitive data entry

  • Improves accuracy by enforcing standard item descriptions, sales codes, and pricing

  • Keeps pricing current because each template always references the latest effective price stored in the Item Master

Accessing Manual Estimate Setup

Path: Setup › Estimate Settings › Manual Estimate Setup

The window has two tabs:

  1. Item Master – create and maintain reusable estimate items and their pricing

  2. Templates – assemble those items into named groups you can apply in a folder

1. Item Master Setup

Add a New Item

  1. Click the first empty row (Click here to add a new row).

  2. Item No – enter a short alphanumeric identifier.

  3. Locations – leave blank for all locations, or pick one/more specific locations.

  4. Description – concise item name as it will appear on estimates.

  5. Additional Desc – optional notes (visible in template setup and on the Manual Estimate screen).

  6. Sales Code – select the correct sales code.

  7. (Optional) Pack Qty / Min Order Qty / UOM – informational only (future use).

  8. Press Tab/Enter through the remaining columns; Updated Date, UserID, ID fill in automatically.

Tip: Press Esc at any point to cancel the new‑item entry.

Deactivate / Reactivate an Item

  • Check Inactive on the row to hide it from future use.

  • Check Show Inactive (top of grid) to view or reactivate items.

Assign Pricing

  1. Click the row for the item you just created; the Pricing grid appears below.

  2. Click the first empty row (Click here to add pricing …).

  3. For Market / Location / Make Or Group choose <ALL> or a specific value.

    • Make Or Group can be a single vehicle make or a make‑group defined in Setup › Vehicle Make Groups.

  4. Effective Date – enter the start date for this price.

  5. Amount – enter the price.

  6. Press Enter to save the row.

Pricing Rules

  • One price per unique parameter set and effective date.
To change price for the same date, delete the old row first.

  • If pricing truly changes, leave old rows in place and add a new row with a later effective date.

  • To delete a pricing row, check the Delete checkbox.

If no price is assigned, the item will default to $0.00 when used on the Manual Estimate screen.
